I am interested in the use of common source materials and situations.

For Tapping Jack (2010), I retyped each page of Kerouac’s On The Road then digitally erased (or significantly “blurred”) whole sentences transforming the text into image and reducing the content to that of a travelogue. As a result this second generation scroll reveals as much as it conceals given that the viewer can visualize the frequency of the author’s cultural and romantic voyeurism.

If jobs and titles are placeholders for identity, the video Shopping For Pleasure combines illuminated advertisements on the exterior of an optical shop with job posting information generated by a flashing electronic pixel board on the opposing side of the street.
